The Department

At the San Andrés, the Department of Modern Languages aims to develop the knowledge and use of languages in our pupils. This is where through the compulsory teaching of English to all the students from Nursery through to 5ht year Secondary and also in French as an option in Primary and Secondary. Our teaching concentrates not only on the theoretical knowledge but also on skills, practical experiences and culture, thus preparing our pupils for life after school, and mature-decision making in university and work circles. English teaching also prepare our pupils for the Preliminary English Test (PET) Certificate in Intermediate Level , the First Certificate in English (FCE) Certificate in Intermediate Advanced Level, Certificate in Advanced English (CAE) Advanced Level, and the International English Language Testing System (IELTS ) from the University of Cambridge, English for Speaker of Other Languages (ESOL). |
